I have started to post 3 minute “Elevator Pitch” videos about Jack Matthews ebooks. Yes, they are mostly just me talking about Jack Matthews, and yes, they have a brazenly promotional nature. I haven’t hopped on the TikTok train yet, but I recognize that videos can convey something personal and more immediate than a simple blogpost can. I expect to do a few more about other JM titles published by Personville and eventually JM titles which are out of print.
Unlike prose, a video can only highlight two or three points and provide a few graphics. With story collections, doing this can be a challenge. In contrast, when you do a video about a novel, you can raise questions and offer opinions supported by evidence rather than just making assertions.
